Upon moving to Rocky Mount, NC in September of 1980 she resumed her career in banking beginning as a part time teller and rising through the ranks as a branch manager and loan officer with Peoples Bank. Because of mergers and acquisitions she worked for several banks in Rocky Mount before retiring with Triangle Bank in 1999.
Margaret was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rocky Mount where she worshiped before declining health caused her to be homebound. She enjoyed visits from her pastors Caswell Shaw and Jim Bell.
Margaret had fond memories of her times at Live Oak Cove on Bogue Sound. She particularly enjoyed boat rides at sunset and times around the dinner table with her family and friends. Margaret enjoyed the holiday reunions at the Parrott Farm in Dover, NC, a tradition begun by her father in law Jake R. Parrott, Sr. and continued by her husband Reid and his brothers Donald and Hubert.
A special thanks is given to Stacy Johnson and her I Pray 2 In Home Health Services special staff of caring angels - Angela Morgan, Ann Horne, Mary Hayes, and Ashley Simmons whose love and caring concern given to Margaret was greatly appreciated by her family.
