  8. My heart aches for the family. Rosie, my thoughts go back to memories of our teen years and the weekends we spent at each others’ homes, bringing our Samsonite luggage (brown paper grocery bags). Rocky Mount fair, riding the dive bomber, Johnny’s leaky convertible, laughing at ourselves. Where did the years go Thank you Rosie for the good memories. Doris Williams Harris

  9. So sorry to hear about Mamie; I worked with her at Montgomery Ward many years ago. She was a very special person.

  10. Ramey, I am so sorry for your loss as well. I know you and Mamie talked often and she meant alot to you as you did to her. I pray for peace to be restored to your heart in the days ahead.

  11. Amy and Abagail, There are no words to take away your pain today. But, I hope that you find comfort in the days ahead knowing how much she loved you. I pray that you find peace in all of the many memories of the wonderful times that you shared together. God must have needed another Angel and besides that, Grandpa Tommie was more than ready to see his Sweet Love. Know that your friends are here for you whenever you need to talk or a shoulder to lean on. Love you.

  12. Gwen she loved you and she always talked about you and your son. Thank you for keeping in contact with me and thank you for being a wonderful friend to my grandmother.

  13. Mamie was like my work Grandmother! She took me under her wings 13yrs ago when I came to Southern Credit and we have been close every since. We took our breaks together. She would bring us a Pepsi everyday(even when I was trying to quit lol) to share at break time. She loved my son and was just a sweet loving lady. I will never forget her and my heart is soooooo heavy right now. I wish the family strength during this difficult time. Forever your friend Gwen Manning

  14. It was my pleasure to be her friend!! As I told you I will definitely check on you from time to time !!!! Be Strong today

  15. To the family of Mamie Rose, my heart and prayers goes out to you all. She was a very sweet, sassy lady. I loved her clothes & jewelry, she even loaned me earring for a formal event. I have worked with her at SCA for almost 3 years. As I got to know Mamie, I felt like I knew each of you. Her stories about her family were amazing. The details she put in each one you could visualize what was happening. I could tell she loved each of you. I know that she is with her husband & son, I could tell the love she had for them also. I often shared my leftover meals with her. She said she love it. This way she didnt have to cook. ) She will be greatly missed.

  16. I’ve known Mamie ever since she worked at Belk’s downtown Rocky Mount. She worked with my grandmother Virgie Vester and I was just a child at the time. Never knowing many years later we would end up working together at Southern Credit. She always knew how to brighten your day with love and laughter. She had a big heart and was a caregiver to many. She was a good friend and co-worker, as well as part of my extended family. I will truly miss her more than words could say.

  17. I am so sadden by the passing of Ms. Rose. For the last 11 years, she has been a part of my life. From being a mentor and leader at work, to sharing her wisdom about life, and guidance in all areas. It seems every time we would go on break, she would have a story to tell.. and neither Gwen nor I could get a word in. ) I’m surely going to miss her stories about her shopping trips to Raleigh, her adventures as a buyer for Belk, and the stories she shared about her son, granddaughters, and great-grandchildren; whom she loved all so much. My deepest sympathy to the family of Mrs. Mamie Rose. We share in your sorrow. Praying that God will strengthen and comfort your family today and always! ~Katrice Johnson
