Mabel Vaughan Brown

Mabel Vaughan Brown, 93, passed away, Sunday, June 26, 2011. Born in Granville County, she was the daughter of the late Frank Henry Vaughan and Eleanor Frances Vaughan. She was also preceded in death by her nine brothers and sisters. Ms. Brown was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved her church family and was a long time member of Sunset Baptist Church. Ms. Brown leaves behind one son, Frank Wayne Brown and fiance Cathy of Rocky Mount; three grandchildren, Allison Winslow and husband Leary of Hertford NC, Ashley Bridgers and husband John of Rocky Mount, and Adrienne Braswell and husband Alan of Castalia NC; five great-grandchildren, Macon, Nixon, Audrey, Ava Grace, and Adam; special niece, Elaine; and several other nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her cat, Blondie. The family will receive friends 7:00pm to 8:30pm Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home and at other times at 3836 Gloucester Road, Rocky Mount. A funeral service to remember Ms. Brown will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, June 29, 2011 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Robin Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids NC. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Brenda Battle for all her love and care.
