Lois Joyner Taylor

WILSON - Lois Joyner Taylor, age 80, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Nash County on August 6, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Dawes Joyner and Della Mae Lindsey Joyner. She was also predeceased in death by her husband of 51 years, George "Pops" Eddie Gorham Taylor; her sisters, Thelma, Senora, Ora, Odessa, Christine and Louise; her brothers, Oliver (Cub), Carl Lee and Junior. Lois was an Operating Room Technician for 37 years starting her career at Park View Hospital and retiring from Nash General Hospital in 1998. She loved spending time with her family and cooking for them especially on Holidays. You could find her in the yard from sun up until sun down with flowers so beautiful just like her. Lois is survived by her son, Eddie Wayne Taylor and his wife, Stacey, of Rocky Mount; her daughter, Kimberly Taylor Brayboy and her husband, Alan, of Wilson; her four grandchildren, Trey Taylor and Sophia Taylor, both of Rock Mount, Caleb Brayboy and Gavin Brayboy, both of Wilson. She will also be cherished by sister, Effie Cooley and her husband, Tom, of Rocky Mount; her brother, Milton Joyner of Rocky Mount; sister-in-law, Peggy Taylor Everette and her husband, Will, of Spring Hope, sister-in-law, Liz Taylor of Sharpsburg; brother-in-law, Roger Taylor and his wife, Gaile of Rocky Mount. A Funeral Service to celebrate Lois's life will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Chapel on the Hill Mausoleum with Pastor Mark Pridgen officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the service in the Chapel. Because of Covid-19, the family requests that everyone respect their wishes and wear masks and practice social distancing. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Lois's memory to Wilson Community Hospice, 2841 Daisy Lane N. Wilson, NC 27896.   2. I worked with Lois at Nash General for many many years, I have so many fond memories of her. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family.
