Linda Smith Gardner

ROCKY MOUNT - Linda Smith Gardner, age 71, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 24, 2020. Born in Nash County, NC on February 7, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Carl Allen Smith and Beauford Knight Smith. Linda is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charles Gardner of Rocky Mount; her daughter, Cary Gardner Hencken and her husband, Chris, of Boston, MA; her son, J. Allen Gardner and his wife, Brittnie, of Raleigh; granddaughter, Alice Hencken; brothers, David Smith and his wife, Brenda, of Buxton, Phillip Smith and his wife, Doris, of Nashville. Linda will always be loved and cherished by many extended family members, longtime friends, and her hospice team. A Private Family Graveside Service to celebrate Linda's life will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Dr. Chet Rains officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Linda's memory to the Jim "Catfish" Hunter Chapter of the ALS Association, 4 N. Blount Street, Suite 200, Raleigh, NC 27601.
