ROCKY MOUNT – Linda Nichols Martin, age 78, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023. Born in Franklin County, VA on August 6, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Willard Nichols and Ethel Marie Hodges Nichols. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Iris Carr, Franklin Nichols, Gene Nichols, and Terry Nichols.
Linda is survived by her husband, Joseph Woody Martin; her daughters, Donna M. Woods (Carl) and Rebecca M. Akers (Jeff); her grandchildren, Stephen Woods (Jackie), Katie Thomas (Justin), and Joshua Akers (Ashley); her great grandchildren, Oliver and Emerson Akers, and Hunter and Grayson Thomas; her sister, Hilda Ann Ray; and many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the Adney Gap Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Callaway Road (Rt. 602) Rocky Mount, Virginia, 24067.
