Linda Catherine Biles Buck, age 66, of Louisburg, NC, passed away at the University of North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC on Thursday, March 31, 2011.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 4, 2011 in the Chapel of Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Buck was born on September 27, 1944 in Jackson, TN to Lt. Colonel and Mrs. Derwood C. Biles. She attended Livorno American High School at Camp Darby Italy. After her fathers retirement from the Army, the Biles family relocated to Searcy, AR. In 1961 she was chosen as the White County Fair Queen. She graduated from Searcy High School in 1962. She resided in Orlando, FL with her husband of 25 years. In 2003 they relocated to Louisburg, NC.
She is survived by her husband, Albert Buck of Louisburg, NC; a son David Wyatt of Aspen, CO; two daughters, Kim Wyatt Bridgforth (David) of Memphis, TN and Ashley Murrell Hawkins (Kevin) of Hernando, MS; a brother, Derwood Biles (Kathleen); and two sisters, Susan Pollard (Robert) and Nina Boston (Thomas); four nieces, Christine Gramling, Cathy Pollard, Sharon Harnett, and Shelley Boston; one nephew, Clint Boston; and five grandchildren, Jackson, Henry and Eleanor Bridgforth, Charlie and Maggie Hawkins.
Mrs. Buck was preceded in death by her parents, Lt. Colonel Derwood Clinton Biles and Margie Mae Massey Biles; and her nephew, Dewitt Clay Biles.
Lindas family describes her as a unique individual whos charm was infectious to most anyone she knew.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to one of the following charities: March of Dimes, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or North Carolina Alzheimers Association.
