Leotha "Leo" Julian Hedgepeth, 80, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2010. He was born February 24, 1930 in Nash County, son of the late Joe and Hattie Hedgepeth.
Leo was a retired rail inspection foreman for the CSX Railroad who in his personal time, enjoyed camping with his family and membership in the "Good Sam Camping Club".
He leaves behind his loving wife, Delphia DeBerry Hedgepeth; three sons, Ronnie Hedgepeth, Robbie (Terri) Hedgepeth, and Mark Howard; three daughters, Linda (Jim) Crickmore, Wanda DeForrest, and Jackie Howard Johnson; twelve grandchildren, Megan and Joshua Hedgepeth, Ann Hedgepeth, Debbie Draper-Powell, Crystal Draper Pray, Jennifer Sider, George DeForrest, Michelle Davis, Chris Steele, Tara Black, Becky Daniels, and Crystal Solley; nineteen great-grandchildren, Megan, Della, Nora Grace, Hannah, Dylan, Julian, Cameron, George, Emerson Lea, Evan, Adam, Paige, Ricky, Theresa, Virginia, Ashley, Tiffaney, Trey, Amber, and April; and fourteen great-great grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Leo's life will be held at 2:00p.m. Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be from 12:30p.m. to 2:00p.m. prior to the service. The Reverends Tim Hayes and Thomas Powell will conduct the service and a private family burial will take place at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
