Leavy “Earl” Flora

ROCKY MOUNT - Leavy "Earl" Flora, age 88, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018. Born in Nash County, NC on September 17, 1930, he was the son of the late Lee Flora and Virginia Daniel Flora. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathan E. Bennett; a great-grandson, Elijah Keith Winstead; brothers, Johnell Flora and Alton Flora; and sisters, Mabel Edwards, Obell Parker, and Ethel Taylor. Earl leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife of 67 years, Madeline Pearson Flora; daughters, Brenda Flora Wester and husband, Tommy, of Leicester, NC and Debi Morris and husband, David, of Clayton. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Cecil Flora and wife, Carolyn of Elm City; and sister, Elsie Dunn of Charlotte; and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 2:30 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Dave Grogan officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
