Lawrence Linwood Sullivan

Lawrence Linwood Sullivan, 87, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, April 7, 2010. He was born September 19, 1922 in Brunswick County, son of the late George W. and Ruth P. Sullivan. He is also preceded in death by three brothers, Marshall, Lennox and Edward Sullivan; and three sisters, Lottie Smith, Lula Hewett and Lily Hewett. Lawrence was a retired owner of Sullivan Home Furnishings, and was a founding member of Westview Baptist Church where he held numerous offices in the church including Chairman of the deacon board and Treasurer. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 68 years, Kathleen Clark Sullivan; two sons, Larry Sullivan and wife Gail of Wilson, Lemuel Gray Sullivan and wife Terri of Stoneville; daughter-in-law, Judy Sullivan of Rockingham; six grandchildren, Kathy Kelly and husband Mike, Cindy Joyner and husband Randy, Jeffrey Sullivan and wife Cristina, Andrew Sullivan and wife Ashley, Kenneth Sullivan and Brian Sullivan; and five great-grandchildren, Angela and Lauren Joyner, Payton Kelly, Isaac and Isaiah Sullivan. A funeral service to celebrate Lawrence's life will be held at 3:00pm Friday, April 9, 2010 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home with viewing one hour prior to the service. Rev. Bill Coffey, Rev. Andy Martin and Rev. Jeff Sullivan will officiate. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery. The family would like to extend a very special and heartfelt thanks to the wonderful people from Community Home Care and Hospice of Rocky Mount for the care and support shown to Lawrence during his illness.
