Kimberly “Kim” Scott Jones

ROCKY MOUNT - Kimberly "Kim" Scott Jones, age 53, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018. Born in Nash County, NC on August 23, 1964, she was the daughter of the late Emmitt Arnold Jones and Edna Joyce Jones. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Jones.
Kim enjoyed every single day and never met a stranger. If you met her once, you had a friend for life. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, and special friend, Kim will be dearly missed and will never be forgotten.
Kim leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Morgan Jones Bass and husband, Shane, of Rocky Mount, Sumer Bottoms Thompson and husband, Timothy, of Rocky Mount, and Amber Bottoms and husband, Shane, of Battleboro. She is also survived by grandchildren, Evan and Brayden Thompson, Jeremy Bales, Landon Barnes, and Penelope Bass; brother, Timmy Jones and wife, Sue, of Smithfield; sisters, Debbie Brinkley and husband, David, of New Bern, Arnette Jones of Rocky Mount, and Michelle Jones Edmondson and husband, Johnnie, of Rocky Mount; special nephew, Jason Jones and wife, Heather, of Rocky Mount; and special family friends, Celia and Donald Weaver of Rocky Mount.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 12:30 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Gary Wood and Pastor Eugene Porter officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.

Kim and I were classmates, softball teammates and just friends that didn’t see each other very often but when we did it was smiles and hugs! My heart hurts for your loss. Some people walk entirely to their own song in life and my friend Kim was one of those. I respected our differences as I think she did the same for me but one thing that we both shared was laughter. She made be laugh more times than I can count on and off the field. sweet memories. Special person.
