  1. TO SUE AND THE JOE TRIPP FAMILY. WE ENJOYED JOE BEING WITH US AND SINGING WITH US ON FRIDAY NIGHTS, HE SHARED HIS LOVE OF THE LORD AND HIS SINGTNG WITH US. WE TREASURE THE MEMORIES.AND FEEL BLESSED TO KNOW YOU AND JOE. . ETHEL PRICHARD

  2. Dear Sue, I was so sad to hear of Joe’s going home to be with the Lord. It was such a privilege to have you and Joe as next door neighbor’s to my mom and dad for 39 years. You and Joe will never know the profound influence y’all had on my life. The Lord especially used you both when I went to college and strayed from the Lord. It wasn’t so much what y’all said, it was the gentle but obvious faith and love you both had for the Lord and for each other. After I rededicated my life to the Lord in college, you and Joe continued to encourage me in my faith. Both of you were always eager to talk to me about the Lord, and after I married Jo Anne in 1974 you both continued to be such an example to us of a godly family. There were countless times Jo Anne and I came over after dinner and both of you always made us feel so welcome. You both took time for us and never made us feel like we were an inconvenience. Sue, I always looked up to Joe because he was such a humble, happy person. He never sought to draw attention to himself. I also admired his hunger to share the Lord with all others without apology, to seek to win the lost and encourage the saved. I have sought to pattern my own life after Joe, to ever look to witness to everyone I meet. I also loved Joe’s signs he painted as a witness. I have several in my shop room. My favorite says The clock of life is wound but once and no man has the power to tell when it will stop, at late or early hour. Behold, now is the day of salvation. II Cor.62-6. I also will always remember Joe inviting me to teach his Sunday School class at Arlington Baptist. I taught in the class how we can not produce the works of God ourselves. As Gal.220 says, it is the Lord who does the works and I mentioned in the class that we are like an empty glove that God slips His life into ours and He does the works through us. Joe encouraged me after the class and mentioned the song he wrote about that very same thing, that we are like an empty glove without the Lord. Soon after, he gave me a cassette tape of his singing the song he wrote. I will cherish it always.. I want you to know, Sue, of our love and prayers for you, J.B., Carolyn, and the rest of the family. That the Lord Himself will continue to live His life in you, as Joe’s song says, that our precious Savior would continue to strengthen, comfort, and guide you all of your days. I Peter 510. Love in Christ, Doug and Jo Anne Lancaster
