Jimmy Ray Harvey

Mr. Jimmy Ray Harvey, age 64, of Halifax, NC, died Thursday, November 11, 2010. Born October 26, 1946 in Halifax County, NC, he was the son of the late William Reginald and Annie Mae Lewis Harvey. Mr. Harvey was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of the Halifax Fishing Club, and a past member of several hunting clubs. An amateur artist, he also loved to paint and sketch outdoor scenes. He loved his family and friends. He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Crumpler and her husband, John, of Nashville, NC and Kristen Harvey of Roanoke Rapids, NC; two sons, Jimmie Ray Harvey, II and his wife, Amy Minges Harvey, of Rocky Mount, NC and Michael Scott Harvey and his wife, Amy Dunn Harvey, of Rocky Mount, NC; a brother, Gilbert Edwards; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Elmwood Cemetery in Enfield, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
