Rocky Mount - Jimmy Lane Hill, age 64, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2015. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on December 24, 1950, he was the son of the late Johnnie Herman Hill and Lillian Winiford Smith Hill. He was also preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers. Jimmy was a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served his Country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Jimmy leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 27 years, Kay Hutto Hill, his daughter, Jennifer Taylor Wells and her husband, Kevin, of Nashville, NC; and his son, Fred Taylor and his wife, Samantha of Beaufort, NC. He is survived by his grandchildren, Meaghan Tyson, Grayson Taylor, Danielle Logan and Tyler Wells; and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 7:00pm in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount NC 27804. Burial will be at a National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service and then again after the service.   1. Kay, I wanted to let you know that I am so sorry. You and the rest of the family are in my thoughts and prayers. You and Jimmy are Church Family. And you were so nice when my Momma was in the hospital fighting cancer. I have never forgotten that. And I am so sorry the two of you had to go through his battle with it. It hurts so much to lose them, yet we know they are free from pain and suffering on the other side. I pray for God to comfort you and the family. Love, Robin Joyner
