Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Janice you gave us all high spirits and you brought so much joy to all others around you. Sure remember our childhood times together. You and your brothers and sister coming over to our house and then our family would visit with all of you. Sunday seemed to be our getting around to Grandma and Grandpa’s house. All the Eight brothers and sister and all the kids. How did our grandparents handle all of that. But it sure is a lot of fond memories. Remember all the Easter Egg hunts over there. One final crazy memory is when my Mom took me to the beauty shop and I had a perm and Rose and I went over to spend the night with you and Shirley. Your Mom Etta and all of you laughed so hard at me trying to get the curl out of my hair. Then of course at the last family reunion you wanted my extended fork and I would not give it to you because I promised to give it to Frank. Wish I had given it to you. There are many memories like this and just know we will miss you. Our Deepest Sympathy to the family and friends. Love Mavis and Ron Caplinger and our daughter Jeanna and Rob Ware.

  2. Lots of good memories with Janice and tommy in earlier years .good times at the beach. Worked with her at Burlington industries and she called me and talked to me even after I moved to wake forest . She was a good friend I will always cherish our friendship.

  3. Janice ,you had a laugh that was one of a kind. You certainly kept me in stitches when I would be in your presence. Memories from Long Ave. go way back even to the times I babysit your first born. I also remember my little pup I got from you and Tommy. You were a trip girl and now you have made the journey to home. You will be missed by many. You and my mama now can catch up where ever you may have left off. My Granny will be right there keeping up with you girls. Your family will be in my prayers. LUV ya , my friend Jeanine Hendershot

  4. My deepest sympathy to the Brake Family. Mrs. Janice Brake was a wonderful person who brightened your day by her laugh, and her smile.l enjoyed working with Janice, she always knew how to get me to smile when I was having a rough day. I will miss her asking me how my weekend was, and her telling me about hers. Janice was and is a very special friend and she will be missed.

  5. Great childhood memories with you Mrs. Brake! I’m so sad to hear of your passing but I take comfort in knowing you’re with the king! May God bless and comfort Mr. Brake, Jennifer, and Kandy during this time!

  6. I love you mom! I miss you more than anything! We will take care of daddy! See you in heaven! I could not have asked for a better mom and best friend! I am glad you are at peace and no longer suffering! Til we meet again…I love you!

  7. Janice was my older sister and we had many good times together, when we got together at a family function and their was music, Janice and I would always dance until we were both so tired that we could no longer dance. my sister worked all her life and was very sick for a long time. now she has gone to join our mama & daddy and I know that they are looking down at us and Janice until I see you again I love you very much and I miss you until we come together in Heaven. love you your brother Randy.

  8. I am so honored to have known and worked with Janice over the last five (5) years; she was such a joy. Her disposition was always so upbeat and happy and she always wore a smile on her face. She will truly be missed but never forgotten. Please family remember to stay encouraged in the fact that your loved one added so much beauty to OptiCare during her tenure here on earth and that Heaven just received another beautiful Angel. Sincerely, Valerie Jay, OptiCare

  9. We at Opticare will always remember Janice’s laughter and her famous strut down the halls. Her voice over the intercom would bring a smile to everyone’s face. We will always remember her saying No money-No chicken when we were ordering chicken plates. When the skies were beginning to cloud she would come onto the intercom saying if your windows are down you better put them up, it looks like rain. The wonderful memories of such a wonderful, courageous person. All of our hearts are heavy but we know that Janice’s faith has led her to a much more beautiful place. We will meet again my friend.

  10. I would like to share a memory of Janice from our time at Benvenue High….now Wal-mart!, Janice and I were in a geography class that had no teacher …or we hardly ever saw one . Can’t even remember a teacher’s name. But, I have always remembered Janice for keeping us entertained with jokes and whatever to help us pass the time. Can’t remember much about other classes at Benvenue, but I’ll never forget the good times we had in that class. Thanks to Janice! It was forty years later that I saw her again at Caswell’s home at a class reunion dinner. It is now sad to hear of her passing and know that she will be missed by her loving family. To me, she will always be the classmate that kept us laughing! John (Johnny) Gwin, Kennesaw, Ga
