NASHVILLE - James Dallas Morris, age 79, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on November 22, 1938, he was the son of the late Herman Morris and Elsie Jackson Morris. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lily Pearl Morris; and daughter, Traci Melissa Morris.
James was a man of great faith in God. He was well respected by everyone. James was a member of Fellowship Church of Nashville. He was a master tradesman and was an honest and hard worker who was dedicated to his family. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
James leaves behind to cherish his memory, sons, James Dean Morris and wife, Vickie, of Rocky Mount, and Lance Jackson Morris and wife, Lisa, of Nashville; and daughter, Staci Maureen Morris of Hickory. He is also survived by grandchildren, Jamie Morris Hyde, Lance "Jackson" Morris, Jr., Tyson Vierheller, Grayson Morris, Brenson Morris; great-grandson, Aiden Hyde and a great-granddaughter on the way; brother, Johnny Morris; and sisters, Betty Morris of Rocky Mount and Margaret Bulluck of Battleboro.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Fellowship Church of Nashville, 1114 S. First Street, Nashville, with the Rev. Larry Tuggle officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 12:00 Noon to 1:30 PM prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Safe Harbor Rescue Mission, 210 2nd Street, SE, Hickory, NC 28601.
