Jacqueline”Jackie” Pridgen Teachey

RED OAK - Jacqueline (Jackie) Teachey, 76, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 29, 1934 in Mecklenburg County. She was the daughter of the late Ruby Pridgen Moore and special guardians Mr. and Mrs. H.R. Pridgen and Jake Lillar Proctor. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband Donald E. Teachey. Jackie is survived by three children, Shannon Houchins and husband Gary of Elm City, Carmon Teachey and wife Rhonda, Kim Teachey and wife Jo all of Rocky Mount, along with four special grandchildren, Katherine, Addison, Jordan Teachey and Abigail Allen. She was also loved by one aunt and six loving cousins. Jackie retired from the Nash Rocky Mount Public School System with 25 years of service. She taught Sunday school for many years along with G.A.'s. She enjoyed singing in the church choir. Jackie was also involved with cub scouts for a brief period of time. Jackie and Donald enjoyed spending time at Gaston Lake with family and friends, along with fishing in the early mornings and late afternoons. She loved her grandchildren and spent as much time with them as possible. Jackie always had a special place in her heart for the community of Red Oak, and all the special people there that she called friends. Funeral services will be held at Red Oak Baptist Church on Tuesday May 31, 2011 at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Red Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, May 30, 2011 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N.
