Hannah Gohlke Gee

HANNAH GOHLKE-GEE ROCKY MOUNT - Janey Hannah Hite Gee, age 72, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016. Born in Toledo, Ohio on January 19, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Stanley Hite and Lucile Poyer Hite. Hannah was first and foremost a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Her passion was to read and to write. She would take time and enjoyment in writing to her daughters and sister lovely long letters. Letters that will be forever cherished. She enjoyed the outside gardening as well as surrounding herself inside with the beauty of nature. Hannah took pride in herself as a lady, she enjoyed dressing up and polishing her nails to match, if only to go the store. She had so much love inside her, the love of animals, the love of being creative, but most of all the love of generosity. Over the years she faithfully donated to the American Native Schools, the Veterans and to various other organizations. Hannah is survived by her four loving daughters; Kelly Gohlke and husband, Ron of Rocky Mount, NC; Corry Mckelvey and her husband, George of Youngstown, OH; Paula Baxley and her husband, Dusty of Hertford, NC; and Jennifer Roberts and her husband, Brent of Searcy, AK. Hannahs memory will be cherished by her ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She will also be missed dearly by her sister, Susan Hite Stith of Columbus, Ohio. Hannah leaves behind several nieces and nephews and three great nieces. The family would like to thank those at Gentiva Hospice of Tarboro for their love and kindness, mostly for their dedicated service in caring for Hannah. A Celebration of Hannahs Life will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services. Visitation with the family will be from 2:00 - 2:45 PM prior to the service at Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services.
