ROCKY MOUNT - George Emerson Peterson, age 91, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021.
Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
Uncle Drew We pray for all whose lives have been touched by the loss of a loved one. For those who mourn, immerse them in your love and lead them through this darkness into your embracing arms and light. For those who comfort, be in both the words they use and all that is left unspoken; fill each heart with the joy of life, love and peace in this upsetting time. In God’s name we pray for those souls who have departed, and for those who mourn the loss. May the grief be shortened by the beautiful memories made and the love that cannot be extinguished, even by death. In the name of the Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit Amen
George was the sales manager at WEED radio for many years. He was always a steadying influence and highly respected by both clients and co-workers. I remember all the great times we had broadcasting Rocky Mount Senior High football games. And for the life of me, I can’t recall anyone ever uttering a negative word about our good friend. Rest in peace George. Yours was a life well lived.
So proud to have known George and to have worked with him for several years. A super person and a great friend. RIP my friend! I will never forget you and the influence you made on your community.
Please accept our deepest condolences for your family’s loss.
Drew. I am so sorry to hear about your father. My condolences to you, your mom, and the entire family. Ben and Valerie Roberson ’79
