George “David” Bowen

George Davis “David” Bowen, age 55, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. A native of Rocky Mount, David was born March 9, 1956, son of the late George David Bowen and Alice Langley Bowen. David enjoyed “big rigs”. He owned his own truck and also worked for Langley Hauling out of Sharpsburg, NC. David was a dedicated member of Temperance Hall United Methodist Church. David leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 27 years, Deborah McCracken Bowen; two daughters, Lisa Bowen Lancaster (Mike) of Temperance Hall and Linda Danielle Bowen of Rocky Mount; one son, David Trey Bowen of Rocky Mount; and three grandchildren, Brianna Bowen, Kaleb Lancaster and Jayla Thompson. David also leaves behind his step-mother, Elizabeth Bowen of Nashville; two sisters, Barbara Hawkins (Bobby) of Nashville and Jeannie Moseman (Percy) of Bailey; and one brother, John Bowen (Edna) of Nashville; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and relatives 7:00pm to 8:30pm Monday, January 23, 2012 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A service to remember David will be at 11:00am Tuesday morning in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Hutchins officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
