Frances Mosley Winstead

Frances Mosley Winstead, 79, of Rocky Mount, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington after a long battle with Parkinsons disease. Frances was born on August 28, 1932 in Nash County to the late Neverson Glocy Mosley and Daisy Wallace Mosley. She graduated from Coopers High School and enjoyed a long career with Carolina Telephone and Telegraph. She was a member of West Haven Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ralph Franklin Winstead; her sisters, Ruth Mosley Ryals, Velma Mosley Burnette, Magnolia Mosley and Vernelle Mosley Fuller; and her brothers, Earl Mosley, Grady Mosley, Donald Mosley and Millard Mosley. Frances is survived by her daughter, Mitzi Winstead Daughtry and husband Chris of Wilmington; granddaughters, Caitlin Frances Daughtry and Regan Elizabeth Daughtry of Wilmington; one sister, Emily Jo Mosley Edwards; two brothers, Wilbur Mosley and wife Gloria, and Wallace Mosley and wife Joan; and a sister-in-law, Juanita Mosley, all of Rocky Mount. The family will receive friends from 7:00pm to 8:30pm on Friday, March 16, 2012 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount. A graveside burial service for family will be held at 10:00am Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. A memorial service to remember Frances will be at 11:00am following the graveside at West Haven Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Connie Button officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to West Haven Presbyterian Church, 1001 West Haven Blvd., Rocky Mount NC 27803 or Shriners Childrens Hospital Fund, 403 E.
