BATTLEBORO - Frances Batts Davis, age 81, devoted Wife, Mama, Grandma and Great-Grandma, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. She was blessed to be in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Nash County, NC on May 15, 1940, she was the daughter of the late James Robert Batts and Flossie Mae Womble Batts. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William "Bill" V. Davis; her sister, Jean Winstead.
Frances devoted her life to her family, especially her five children. "A Mothers Love is the Heart of a Family.” Her life was further blessed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Frances is survived by her sons, Dale Davis of Elm City, Darryl Davis and wife, Julie, of Rocky Mount, Dwight Davis and wife, Tammy, of Battleboro, and David Davis and wife, Donna, of Nashville; her daughter, Regina Davis Purvis and husband, Phil, of Charlotte; her grandchildren, Meagan Barnes and husband, Zack, Kristin Purvis, Randi Purvis, David Davis, Phoenix Davis, and Dustin Davis; and her great-grandchildren, Josie Ann Barnes and Jakin Dallas Barnes.
A Graveside Service to celebrate Frances' life will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with her son, Elder Dwight Davis officiating.
