ROCKY MOUNT - Evelyn Willie Gay Glover, age 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, August 11, 2021. Born in Nash County, NC on May 12, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Willie Sloan Gay and Lucy Wells Gay. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Alton Glover, Sr. and their young son Robert Alton Glover, Jr.; her sisters Mary Alice Gay Brown, Emma Lou Gay Pippen, and her brother Marvin Ray Gay.
Evelyn was a knowledgeable and adored home economics teacher for many years in the Rocky Mount area public schools and retired after 37 years of dedication. She was a faithful charter member of Englewood United Methodist Church of which she served in many capacities throughout the years.
Evelyn and Robert welcomed many friends and family into their home over the years with wonderful meals and loving fellowship. All were always welcome and their generosity was extended and felt by anyone who entered their home.

Evelyn is survived by her beloved son, Clifton Keith Glover and wife, Fran, her loving granddaughters, Cameron Glover Robey and husband, David, and Chandler Glover Hatley and husband, Zach, and her new great granddaughter, Addison Lawrence Robey, each whom she adored and was extremely proud; her devoted niece Melody Lohmeyer and husband Bill. Evelyn's family will be forever grateful for her loving caregivers, Betty Croom, Saleta Hines, and Mary Pittman.
A family burial will be held at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

So sorry to hear of Mrs.Glover passing. She talked me at Northern Nash High School.She was a kind hearted teacher and put her everything into her class. I never forgot her kind words she spoke into my life,along with her giving of cloth for my Mother was not able to get the tool I needed for the class.She was more than a teacher to me.May God reward her for goodness.May the Family lean on God for strength.He will see you thru.
