Evelyn Purvis Montague

Evelyn Purvis Montague, age 90, went home to Heaven on Tuesday, June 12, 2012. Born in Fairmont NC on October 6, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Coen Vernum Purvis Sr. and Lillian Jenkins Purvis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, D.V. Montague Jr.; infant son, D.V. Montague III; daughter, Dianne Montague McRoy; sister, Nelrose Purvis; and brothers, Clyde Jack Purvis and James Leon Purvis. She was a member of Arlington Baptist Church. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, she leaves behind her sister, Delores P. Edwards (Kenneth) of Red Oak; brother, C.V. Purvis Jr. (Billie) of Orange Park FL; grandsons, Z.B.(Dee) Bulluck IV (Beth) of Rocky Mount and Robert Brian Bulluck of Oklahoma City OK; great-granddaughter, Mary Beth Bulluck of Nashville; grandson, Hunter Bulluck; great-great granddaughter, Hannah; and great-great grandson, Kaden. The family will receive friends 12:30pm to 2:00pm Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A service to remember Evelyn will be held at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tim Lowry officiating. Burial will take place at Pineview Cemetery.
