Evelyn Grace Cook was born on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 8:22 AM to parents Stephen and Shay Cook and brother, Wyatt. She weighed 3 lbs. 15 oz. and was 15 inches long. Evelyn's dad and mom were blessed with the gift of about an hour with Evelyn before she went into the arms of Jesus. She is preceded in death by siblings, her grandpa Seibel and great-grandparents. Her family looks forward to holding her again in eternity. Her family would like to thank the Vidant Hospital Staff that treated Evelyn, in the womb and out of the womb, with dignity and value.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Pastor Dayton Hartman officiating.

I’m so sorry for your loss but I am glad you got at least a little bit of time with her. Just rest knowing she’s in heaven with Jesus.
I just want to express my sincere sympathy to you and your family Shay, including your Mom. What a sweetheart Evelyn is and I’m so glad you got to hold her in your arms at least for a short time and express your love to her outside the womb as well. You have another loved one to look forward to seeing in heaven. May our Lord comfort you as only He can today and in the days ahead as you ponder what might have been. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. Lord, help us to fix our eyes on you. Please bring this family comfort and peace that only You can provide. We know that You grieve with us and share in our heartbreak. You comfort those who mourn. Please be with this family as they mourn sweet Evelyn. You are our refuge and our strength. Your understanding is infinite. Thank you for her time here on this earth with us Lord and the impact she has had. Thank you Lord, that You have promised to carry our pain and that Your grace is sufficient every day. Sweet Evelyn, we will always remember you. What a blessing you are and will continue to be to those who knew you, prayed for you, and loved you during your life here on this earth. Fly to Jesus little one where you will rest safely in His arms until we are all reunited again. Shay and Steven – our prayers are with you during this difficult time. Rest in the hope that we have in our Savior who conquered the grave and gave us the assurance that death does not win.
