Ella Mae Byers

ROCKY MOUNT - Ella Mae Byers, age 90, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2021. Born in Kern County, CA on July 15, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Jim Lewis Byers and Hazel Irene Byers. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Vera Fern Goodrich. Ella Mae loved gardening and her green thumb showed as she always had beautiful flowers in her yard. She had many hobbies which included snow skiing, ceramics, painting, and reading. Ella Mae loved animals, especially cats and volunteered over the years with the local Humane Society. She touched the lives of so many people and will always be remembered with love and kindness. Ella Mae is survived by her nephew, Jeff Goodrich; and her nieces, Kimberly McGinnis (John) and Leslie Orel (Carlos). A Private Family Celebration of Ella Mae's Life will be held at a later date.
