NASHVILLE - Elizabeth "Betsy" Tilghman Hicks, age 79, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021. A fan of Elvis Presley and country songs, music had a way of always putting her mind at ease. A devoted and loving mother, "Mimi", "Mema", sister, and dear friend to many, Betsy will be forever loved and deeply missed.

Hicks, Jr. and wife, Albina of Nashville; her daughter, Deborah Hicks Griffin and husband, Kevin of Rocky Mount; her grandchildren, Jason Griffin and wife Chelsea, Sarah Griffin Blake and husband Chad, Daniel Griffin, Christopher Hicks and wife Staci, Meagan Hicks Nabb and husband Josh, and Heather Hicks Grimes and husband Jesse; her great-grandchildren, Jay and Tyler Griffin, Bradley, Abigail "Baby Doll", and Griffin Blake, Devon and Ellie Ulbrich, Violet, Cullen, and Carson Nabb, and Oliver and Willow Grimes; her brothers, Theodore "Ted" Wilson Tilghman, III of High Point and Jay Tilghman of Flemington, NJ; her sister, Nancy Tilghman Hunt; and many nieces and nephews.
