  5. Hi, my name is Latoya Footman, from New York. Elaine Footman Whitaker was and is my oldest first cousin.

I remember when Tasha that’s what we all called her in New York. I remember coming up Tasha surprised me she came over to the house to pick me up to take me to school for my state exam and stopping at this breakfast spot to make sure I had something in my belly before I took the test. I always thought that was cool!

The last time I’ve seen her (Tasha) she had given me two brand new beautiful dresses, she called me into her bedroom and said here Toya take this, this should fit you, I remember taking them dresses to try them on and walking back into the room where she was, with a big smile on my face I begin to model twist and turn in front of her, she looked and looked and smiled….

Tasha, I remember you doing all kinds of things when I was a child, I remember as child getting into all your things makeup, jewel’s, clothes etc. I looked up to you, you were talented. You used to braid my hair, cooked the most delicious dish the green pepper stuffed with ground beef umm mm good. you had me doing math when you babysitter us it encourage me, to stretch mind. thanks. You are always smart you knew how to get what you wanted and not only that you went after it. you achieved what you set out for. you were and are a go getter, you showed strength, are courageous, you had great obstacles standing in your way and still you preserve at life your dream, you wanted to travel so you did, to see the world. I have thoughts that, that Lion spirit in you is lineage coming down from our ancestors.

Remembering when she wanted me to be part of her wedding, she made me her bridesmaid I never got to tell her how happy she made me. she put a smile on my face yet again etc.

In closing Tasha, I always loved you and still do. You are loved and very much are missed. Thank you for everything. your family love and misses you always. Tell Grandma, JC, Shy, Kalik and JF etc. we all love them and misses them as well. may your soul be blessed and don’t forget to watch over us all.

    Peace & Love,

    TOYA
