Edward Miller Everette, 74 called home to be with the Lord Saturday, July 17, 2010. He was born March 21, 1936 in Duplin County, NC.
Ed's love for his family and friends was the most important thing to him. He loved spending time with them and going places together; nascar racing, gospel music and church. He served as an usher and was a very active member of Northside Community Baptist Church. He was a generous, caring, and a big hearted man that touched the lives of so many. He was known to brighten up every room he entered, always talking, laughing, and joking with those around him. He always knew the right thing to say to turn a frown upside down and was a pleasure to be around. He retired from Abbott Laboratories in Rocky Mount for 15 years, Siding and Associates of Nashville for 15 years.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 35 years, Rachel Everette of the home; sons, Donnie Worrells, Sr. of Elm City, Fred and Carol Worrells of Nashville; daughter, Debbie Bass of Nashville; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and family at Northside Community Baptist Church, Beaver Pond Road, Rocky Mount, Wednesday, July 21, 2010 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010 with Rev. Mark Pridgen officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
