Edward “Eddie” Earle Coker

ROCKY MOUNT - Edward "Eddie" Earle Coker, age 61, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022. Born in Forsyth County, NC on February 4, 1961, he was the son of the late Theodore "Ted" Coker, Jr. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Percy Frazier.
Eddie was a longtime member of Arlington Baptist Church. He owned and operated Towel Town alongside his wife, Cindy for 32 years. He was better known as, "The Lamp Man" by many as he could fix anything. Eddie adored his two grandkids. He was a family man, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and mentor to many. He loved nothing better than spending time with his family and community.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 41 years Cindy F. Coker; his daughter, Christin Coker Brantley and her husband, Scott of Bailey; his son, Edward "Justin" Coker of Rocky Mount; his grandchildren, Sara Dawes and Wyatt Brantley; his mother, Alice Covington Coker of Whitakers; his brother, Lonnie Coker and his wife, Cindy of Roper, NC; his mother-in-law, Mae Frazier of Rocky Mount; and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Eddie's life will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Mike Stamper officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Chapel on the Hill Mausoleum. The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Eddie's memory to Nash Autism Seeking Hope-NASH, 5441 West Mount Drive, Nashville, NC 27856 or Pediatric Cardiology of UNC in c/o Butterfly Garden, 123 West Franklin Street, Suite 510 Chapel Hill, NC 27516.

Alice, Cindy and rest of family, I am so sorry for losing Eddie from here on earth, but rest assured you will be with him in Heaven, where he is with his Savour. Alice , I had such high hopes and prayers after you told us of his improvement on Sunday in Sunday School. Just know that you will continue to have my prayers. Remember, God has this. He is in control.

You could not have picked a better picture of Eddie. It makes me smile every time I look at it. We will all miss him but have wonderful memories of painting, building, and many nights of him and Robert frog Giggin together. Friday nights spent with Mae and Percy, Cindy and Eddie at downtown Towel Town. Prayers for you and your family.
I have not seen Eddie for many years, but I have so many wonderful memories of him as I was growing up. He was always so nice and a very positive person. Just a very sweet soul. My prayers and thoughts are with all the family.

Cindy I am so sorry to hear about Eddie. It just broke my heart. I always looked forward to coming in the store and seeing all the pretty things but most of all I enjoyed seeing and talking with you and Eddie. I will miss Eddie, he was always so helpful and kind.
