Edith Brown Cooley

Waxhaw - Edith Brown Cooley, age 94, died on Sunday, July 12, 2015. She was born in Brunswick County, NC on July 19, 1920 to the late Marion and Rebecca Clemmons Brown. Edith was also preceded in death by her husband, Silas G. Cooley; son-in-law, Mark Bulluck; siblings, Minnie Rooks, Myrtle Price, Kathleen Brantley and Allen Brown. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Bulluck, her son, Neil Cooley and wife, Dale; her five grandchildren, Debbie Burleson (Dale), Mark Bulluck, Jr. (Annette), Neil Cooley, Jr., Farrah Baird (Charlie) and Silas Cooley; four great-grandchildren: Ashley Shuell (Colton), Dustin Burleson, Annabelle and Emmeline Baird; two great-great grandsons: Brayden and Ethan Shuell; and a sister-in-law, Winnie Edwards Brown. Edith loved working in her flowers which she shared with others, and spending many hours in her rocking chair with her sewing basket, hand sewing the blocks for the many quilts she made for her family. A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Pineview Cemetery with a eulogy by Johnny Umphlet officiating.
