Dwinda Lou Cannon Perry

Dwinda Lou Cannon Perry, age 64, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015. She was born July 10, 1950 in Edgecombe County to the late Raymond Cannon and Flossie Mae Pearson Cannon. Preceding her in death was her beloved husband, Gene Patrick Perry, her two sisters, Florence Cannon and Barbara Cannon Joyner and one brother, Crawford Allen Thompson. Mrs. Perry faithfully worked for Stanley Black and Decker in Tarboro for many years. Following the closing of the Plant, Dwinda found her place with Hospira, where she devoted 13 years until her retirement. A caring mother, grandmother and friend to all, she ensured her family had all the love her heart could give. Dwinda enjoyed many activities with her family and friends, cherishing the memories made, however none could touch her love for bowling. It was a past-time that she thoroughly enjoyed. A woman of faith she was a active member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church, until her illness prevented her from freely getting about, and even then, with the help of family, could still find a way to follow the walk attending Ridgecrest Worship Center. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Dawes Van Housen and her husband, Keith, of Southport; grandchildren, Justin, Allison and Christopher Van Housen also of Southport. Dwinda is also survived by her sisters, Becky Holloman and her husband, Joe, of Rocky Mount, and Delores Hoggard of Tarboro; her brother, David Ray Cannon of Goldsboro; and her sister-in-law, Peggy Pendelton and her husband, Louis, of Rocky Mount. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Reverend Billy Keith officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
