Dorothy Ruth Davis Hodges passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011. She was born in Waycross, GA and was the daughter of the late Benjamin Thomas Davis and Lola Paris Davis. She was also predeceased by her husband, Cecil Hodges and brother, R.C. "Boots" Davis She was a kind-hearted and giving person with a compassionate love for dogs, especially her own. Ruth is survived by her brother, Benjamin "Tucky" Davis, Jr. of Rocky Mount; sister-in-law, Melga Wainwright and husband Doug of Rocky Mount; niece, Tina Davis Hunt and husband Howard of Mt. Olive; and nephew, Ben T. Davis III and wife Jeanne of South Hill, VA. A graveside service to remember Ruth will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Pineview Cemetery, section 49 with Rev. Dal Coppedge officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Edgecombe-Nash Humane Society, P.O. Box 1783, Rocky Mount NC 27802.
