Donald R. Arrington

Wilson - Donald “Donnie” R. Arrington, age 83, passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016. Born in Nash County, NC on December 31, 1932, he was the son of the late Joseph Carter Arrington and Cleo Arrington Barnes. He was also preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Donnie was a member of Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church. He also worked for the City of Rocky Mount for 30 years as a meter reader and a supervisor until his retirement in 1984. Donnie leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 65 years, Yvonne Alford Arrington of Rocky Mount; his son Mark C. Arrington and his fianc Julie Brooks of Rocky Mount. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Chris Arrington, Michael Arrington, Crystall Arrington and Chelsea Arrington Rose; and his great-grandchildren, Zylo and Elowa Leanord; and sister, Jo Ann English and husband, Mack, of Nashville. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Pineview Cemetery with Elders Cleo Robertson and Harold Pittman officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services.
