  11. I knew Charlie as a neighbor and a friend. He loved the beach and found peace and comfort in the sounds and sights of the sea, the sky, and sand. We were neighbors there, and I spent many a sunny Saturday afternoon on the deck with him and his other friends, sharing jokes, trading good natured barbs, and enjoying his charm and wit. He would stand in the hot sun on the stairs leading to the beach, beer in hand, bare chested, bathing suited, doing what he called the rotisserie, and greet us as we passed with his sly, mischievous look and funny comment or story. We discussed his work and life and I came to understand him to be a man who loved his family, his country, and community. He deeply cared about his work as a Pharmacist, something he did with genuine compassion for the people there. He was generous, charming, witty, and for me charismatic. We have lost a good man and friend whom my wife and I will miss, as will, I am sure, all who knew him. Wes and Andrea McDonald, Southport NC.

  12. We Teresia Wright Shuler and family sends our deepest condolences to the Drum family. My late father Haywood Wright was always taken care of by him.
