Daniel Willie Sherrod

ROCKY MOUNT - Daniel Willie Sherrod, age 83, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 23, 2021. Born in Nash County, NC on November 5, 1938, he was the son of the late Willie Jackson Sherrod and Lela Estelle Vick Sherrod. He was also preceded in death by his son, Danny Jackson Sherrod; and his brother, Braxton Lee Sherrod. Daniel was a proud Veteran of the US Air Force. He was a dedicated Registered Nurse for over 40 years. Daniel was a loving brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, and will be missed by all who knew him. Daniel is survived by his daughters, Linda Joyner of Nashville and Jennette Sherrod of Micro; his grandsons, Noah Sherrod and Travis Sherrod; his great-grandson, Cameron Sherrod; his sister, Jane Sherrod Smith (Douglas) of Rocky Mount; and his brother, Charlie Jackson Sherrod of Marietta, GA. A Graveside Service to celebrate Daniel's life will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Maplewood Cemetery in Wilson with Rev. Joe Price officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
