Christine Burt Weede

Annie Christine Burt Weede, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012. Born in Nash County on July 03, 1927, she was the daughter of the late William Alexander Burt and Mary Elizabeth Freeman Burt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Conway Sherman Weede Sr.; son, Conway Sherman Weede Jr.; and a very special granddog, Jerimiah Haddock. After graduation from Rocky Mount Senior High, she attended Campbell College. Upon graduation, she worked as a secretary for Davis Refrigeration in Rocky Mount. She met and married Conway Weede, Sr. She stopped working after her children were born. In later years, she returned to work at C.D. Building Contractor where she worked over thirty years until retirement in 2011. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Belinda Weede Haddock of Tarboro; three grandsons, Andy (Amy) Weede of Rocky Mount, Thomas Haddock of Spring Hope, and Allen (Sofia) Weede of Nashville; sister, Elizabeth Patterson; and niece, Rhonda Metcalf, both of Morganton. She will also be remembered by her great-grandchildren, Joseph, A.J., Liliana, Arely and Adonasci; great-great grandson, Bentley; other nieces and nephews; close friends, Juanita Mosely and Sammy and Janice Drake; and her church family at First Christian Church. The family will receive friends and relatives 7:00pm to 8:30pm Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A service to remember Christine will be held at 11:00am Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the mausoleum at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Rev. Kathy Jo Mitchell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 1101 West Haven Blvd., Rocky Mount NC 27803.
