I have so many memories of fun times with Chris over the past 30+ years I couldn’t begin to list them. I still can’t believe I won’t see her when I come to Rocky Mount! Jim & Andy, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace, my dear friend ~ I will miss you!!
I knew Christie for many years while she was coming into Dr. Ted Strickland’s dental office. As her dental hygienist she and I shared many stories of her teaching and travels. She had a great love with Jim and Jonathan and shared that with us… Prayers going to the family and may you rest in peace…. Donna Burroughs, Swansboro, NC (formerly Rocky Mount.)
So, so many good times with Chris at BWCC. Especially, when I was gathering IVY and she explained to me that it was Poison Ivy. We never forgot this. Many times driving he beverage cart for men’s tournaments. She also taught both my children. She was a dear person.

I don’t know where to begin. Chris and I shared a very special relationship for about 20+ years. She was not only my very best friend but like a sister to me. Instead of sending best friend cards to each other sometimes we would send sister cards. We had so much fun together shopping, playing cards, going to the beach, golfing, and most of all fishing together. We or should I say Chris stayed in the water more trying to either unhook my line from a stump that I got caught on or either chasing down the string of fish that a large turtle had taken away from the side of the bank. We have laughed so hard at the crazy fun times that we had together. We were like Ethel and Lucy. I miss her so much already! Chris I love you sweet heart and you will always have a special place in my heart! Rest peacefully now my dear friend! Jim, Andy, Cathy, Ann, Harriet, Carol, and I can’t forget Pip and to the rest of the family, may God help you through this tough time. I LOVE you all! Forever Jewel

Jim, Betty and I are so sorry for your loss. May the good Lord be with you and your family during this sad time and keep you strong. Praying for you, my friend. Mike and Betty Robinson
Kelly enjoyed her time with Andy so much. The Wiggs always open home their home and made every child feel special. Christie will be missed in so many ways. Praying for both of you.
Christie was such a wonderful educator who truly cared and loved her kids! She always gave them the absolute best of herself. It was such a pleasure, as a parent, to have developed a relationship with her during the time that the put the Southern Nash Brain Game team together that was so successful thanks to the dedication of Christie. She never hesitated to open her home and her heart to this group of kids. Our heartfelt condolences to you all as our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.

Jim, Andy, Ann, and family, Don and I are so sorry for your loss. She loved you all so much and was so proud of each of you. I can truly say that I feel your loss. Chris was a true friend of mine. We shared about everything about our lives, past and present. We knew each other so well. We shopped and shopped (Boy, that girl could shop). I look around my house and have reminders of Chris and those shopping trips everywhere. She was so smart and she had a real love of history! She tried to teach me how to paint. She was such a talented woman. She could see the beautiful possibilities in simple things. She helped me see them, too. I am a better person for having her in my life. I will miss her for the rest of my life. With loving sympathy, Jennifer Ferrell
I had Mrs. Wiggs for English, but instead, she taught us about the Holocaust. I’m still thankful to this day that she did that. She even took our class to meet a Holocaust survivor. Each day I couldn’t wait to get to her class because she made learning interesting. I remember a wasp getting into our classroom and Mrs. Wiggs said she was allergic…there wasn’t one student in there that wasn’t trying to protect her from that wasp. She was not only a teacher, but a friend. She loved her students and was loved in return. She changed my life and I know I speak for a lot of people when I say, you will be missed.
Chris was such a special person. She made my girls feel so welcome when we moved to NC from Ohio over 30 years ago. She was their favorite teacher. She took them to and from school most days. What a wonderful teacher, friend and mentor to so many! I know she will be missed by many, many friends and her dear family.
