Charlie Michael “Mike” Bunn

February 18, 1949 ~ March 30, 2016

Nashville - Charlie Michael “Mike” Bunn, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016. Born in Nash County, NC on February 18, 1949, he was the son of the late Robert Marcus Bunn, Sr. and Frances Griffin Bunn. Mike honorably served his country in the United States Army Reserves for six years. His dedication to what mattered most to him in life went beyond his military service, such as to his faith and his church. Growing up within the Englewood United Methodist Church family, Mike was an inspiration to many, especially to his cherished family. A loving husband, supportive father and grandfather, he centered his devotion to his family whether it was preparing a family meal to enjoy or being the NC State fan his was, watching the Wolf Pack play on TV. Mike was also known for having a strong work ethic, as his over 40 years in the food industry was a testament to his professionalism. He would later retire as a salesman with Wilson Packing Company after over 20 years of service. Mike leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 47 years, Betsy Bone Bunn; his son, Shawn Bunn and wife, Missy, of Battleboro; and his daughter, Stephanie Graham and husband, Michael, of Rocky Mount. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Sam and Greyson Bunn; and Jacob Bailey Graham; and sister, Annette Bunn of Rocky Mount; brothers, Robert Marcus Bunn, Jr. and wife, Pat, of Rocky Mount and Donnie Bunn and wife, Kim, of Greenville; and special friends, Justin, Laura, Ryleigh, and Aubrey Ellis; and Alan, Cindy, Jeffrey, and Alyssa Matthews. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends and relatives Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SECU Family House at UNC Hospitals, 123 Old Mason Farm Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27517.   6. Betsy and the entire Bunn family. We are saddened to hear about Mike. Mike was one of those people that created life, fun and friendship when he walked into a room. Mike created a lot of memories for many people along his journey through life. We shall all enjoy those memories as we continue our journey until we all meet in Heaven.
