Charles”Pete” A. Tripp

ROCKY MOUNT - Charles A. "Pete" Tripp, 92, died Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Brekenridge Retirement Center. He retired with Exxon Corporation with 25 years of service. He then worked with M & S Oil Company for 5 years. Mr. Tripp was an American Patriot who served in the U. S. Army during WWII in the European Theatre. He was a family man dedicated to his wife and son and took care of his wife during her years of declining health. He was preceded in death by his wife Odell Smith Tripp, two brothers and four sisters. Surviving are his son, Jackie G. Tripp of Rocky Mount; sisers, Louise Branch of Winterville, NC and Velma Boone of Portsmouth, VA. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 pm Tuesday, February 15, 2011 followed by a funeral service at 1:30 pm at Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at 3:30 pm at Pinewood Memorial Park in Greenville, NC. Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount NC.
