Rev. Charles Inglesby Penick Sr., age 88, passed away Friday, May 23, 2014.
Arrangements to be provided by Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount NC.
Expressing deepest sympathy in the passing of your loved one. Mr. Penick was a loving, humorous gentleman. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Penick and his wife, while conducting library programming at Golden Living. He had a joy of reading and I enjoyed picking out books to take to him to read. It was a blessing to meet someone such as Mr. Penick. May the family find strength and comfort in this time. Rose Battle Lewis
Chip, Vicki and Family; expressing our sympathy in the passing of your father. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Love, Kay Rowland and Donna Amerson
There are so many memories of Charlie. Working with him at the Mental Health Center, attending the 730 AM service on Wednesday morning at the Church of the Good Shepherd with breakfast afterwards at the Carlton House, finding real dyed eggs by the mailbox on Easter morning, sharing jokes (some kinda racy), loving his Odes when retiring from the Mental Health Center ( I still have mine), getting an unexpected cartoon in the mail, receiving the most creative thank you note for a simple tin of popcorn at Christmas… you just never knew what what he might write next but one thing you could count on…. Charlie’s love. His devotion to Nancy was inspiring. His love for everyone was amazing. His faith was total. I love you, Charlie. You added so much to my life. I will miss you. Cheryl and Michie Coppedge
Sympathy to all & hope that you will find peace, & comfort from God for your grief, in the loss of your loved one. The Bible tells us (1 Cor. 13,4) Death will be brought to nothing, the last enemy of mankind. What a gift, that has been given, to have the hope of seeing our loved ones again.
Please accept our deepest condolences for your family’s loss.
