Carolyn Marlow Smith

Rocky Mount - Carolyn Marlow Smith, age 86, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015. She was born on January 28, 1929 in Scotland Neck, NC, the daughter of the late Albert Marlow and Edna Harper King. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert H. Smith, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Leasa Renee Harper Smith; step-son, Raymond Eugene Smith; and her sister, Nell Wall. She was a member of Arlington Baptist Church. A good provider to her family, she never left home unless she was prim and proper. She loved to travel, cooking, the holidays, especially Christmas, and she was known as the “QVC Queen”. She leaves those to cherish her memory, daughter, Judy Parker King (T.W.) of Nashville; son, Robert Wayne Smith of Castalia; step-children, Albert H. Smith, Jr. (Sandy) of Austin, TX and Glenn A. Smith (Dee) of Chesapeake, VA; daughter-in-law, Becky Smith of Portsmouth, VA; grandchildren, Mark Parker (Joanie) of Wilson, Kevin Parker (Tracey) of Elm City, Megan Smith and Dakota Smith both of Castalia; step-grandchildren, Raymond Smith, Jr. and Katie Smith both of Portsmouth, VA, and Chip Smith of Chesapeake, VA and P.J. Smith of Austin, TX; sister, Betsy Sanderson of Nashville; and brothers, John King, Jr. of Nashville and Danny Ray King of Castalia. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and her best friend and companion, “Honey Love”, her poodle. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1130 North Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804, with Rev. Robin Fisher officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday at the funeral home one hour prior to services. Interment will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
