Carole Glover Joyner

January 5, 1942 ~ November 22, 2020

ROCKY MOUNT - Carole Glover Joyner, age 78, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 22, 2020. Her address has now been permanently changed to Heaven where she has been reunited with her husband of 56 years, Garland Gene "G-Man" Joyner. Born in Nash County, NC on January 5, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Curtis Hartsell Glover and Margaret Helen Tant Glover. Carole was a member of Fountain of Life Church of God of Prophecy where she was active in the Back Pack and Food Bank Ministries as long as her health permitted. Carole retired from the Banking Industry after 39 years of service, beginning with Planters National Bank and ending with RBC Bank. She dearly loved her family and the grandchildren and her great-grandson brought a lot of joy and happiness into her life. She was a loving and caring wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma and will be missed by all who knew her. It was our Mom's wish that everyone have the peace and joy that she felt that can only come from God. Never forget you are a citizen of the Kingdom of God and someday you will be home. Carole leaves behind to cherish her memory; her son, Jeff Joyner and wife, Susan, of Rocky Mount; her daughter, Kelly Joyner Casale and husband, Dr. Joe Casale, of Marietta, GA.; her grandchildren, Grace Joyner Hale and husband, Tyler, Halie Joyner, Summer Joyner, Curtis Joyner, Grant Casale, Bella Casale; great-grandson, J.C. Hale; brothers, Randy Glover and wife, Joyce, of Spring Hope, Dwaine Glover and wife, Sandra, of Wilson; her sister, Deborah Carter and husband, Rocky, of Zebulon; several nieces and nephews; extended family, Hilda Williams, Linda Frazier, Carolyn High; and many special friends and neighbors. A Funeral Service to celebrate Carole's life will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 2:30 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Lutrell Spell and Rev. Mackie Walters officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday, November 24, 2020 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Jay Manikkam and the wonderful staff at Danny Talbot UNC Cancer Center and Nash UNC Health Care Systems Hospice & Palliative Care for their special care during all of Mom's visits and treatments. She truly was a special person and friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

  14. Sincere condolences to Carole’s loving family. Carole was a close friend and co worker of mine and my late husband Ricky. We both adored her as a person and enjoyed our many years together at the bank. She and I especially enjoyed working our end of year General Ledger processing and we relied on each other to get it done and get home! Good times, good memories! Since moving to Raleigh nearly nine years ago, we hadn’t seen each other as much, but we would still meet for lunch at K&W or Olive Garden once in a while. I will miss her!
