Blanton Curtis Bell

ROCKY MOUNT - Blanton Curtis Bell, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Born in Franklin County, NC on December 29, 1921, he was the son of the late Joseph Hillard Bell and Lena Mary Denton Bell. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Murray Bell; brothers, Sidney, Homer, Preston, and Ted; and sisters, Pearline, Peggy, Mazine, and Rachel. Blanton was called into the ministry with 55 years of beloved service as a Pastor with the Church of God of Prophecy. He retired with Ford Dealerships after 40 years of service. Blanton was a member of The Church of God. He was a devoted husband, loving father, caring grandfather and great-grandfather, loyal brother, and friend to many. Blanton's life was filled with happiness, love, and a strong spiritual devotion to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Blanton leaves behind to cherish his memory, children, Jerry Bell and wife, Lynn, of Charleston, SC, Greta Cunningham of Rocky Mount, and Michael Bell and wife, Elaine, of Chocowinity. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and brother, Charlie Bell, of Morrisville. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Ron E. Brisson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.   3. A dear, dear man of God who loved with the heart of God. I remember his jokes, his laugh, the strum of his guitar, his love of Lillian, his love of God, his devotion to sharing the gospel. And…he was an awesome mechanic and a pretty good cook also! There will not be another Bro. Bell. Fond memories. God bless his wonderful family. He has made it home!! Happy Dance!
