Beverly Jean McCormick Hallstrom

Beverly Jean McCormick Hallstrom, age 85, of Rocky Mount, NC entered into rest on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at The Lodge of Rocky Mount. Beverly was born in Thorpe, WV on August 12, 1938, daughter of the late William C. and Lucille E. (Rush) McCormick. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Robert O. Nill, David Dwight Miller, and Edwin Hallstrom; and her three brothers, William C (Brenda) McCormick, Phillip D. (Dianne) McCormick, and Glen E McCormick. Beverly was a graduate of Gary High School. She went on to work for the Dept. of the Navy for 25 years. Beverly retired and left the DC area for a warmer climate in Orlando, FL, where she lived for over 30 years. She joined the BPO Does #1079 and eventually the Elks in Winter Park #66. Beverly was dedicated to these giving organizations, holding many officer positions, and even being involved at the State level. Her family and friends will remember her for her sparkly personality, and her love of all things red. Beverly enjoyed reading, shopping, and travelling, especially to the beach. Survivors include her children, Charles E. Nill and Susan (Ted) Lipscomb; her grandchildren, Samantha (Kevin) Spain, T.J. Lipscomb, Christopher Lipscomb, Kaelynne Nill, and Britt Nill; her great-grandchildren, Aidan Spain and Jayce Spain; her sisters, Adele Compton and Saundra (Michael) Metcalf; her step-daughters, Jane Hockaday and Kay Miller (Craig) Urbanowicz, her step-grandchildren, David Hockaday, Kay (Jason) Rice, and Janie Urbanowicz; her nieces and nephews, Roberta (Roger) Lee, David McCormick, Sandra (Neil) Sellman, Victor (Krista) Compton, Jeri Lynn Metcalf, Kevin Metcalf, Sheila (Craig) Mick; and her best friends, Ruth Grasso and Lois Batts.
