ROCKY MOUNT - Betty Proctor Lelekacs, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. Born in Baltimore, MD on February 17, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Paul Dewey Proctor, Sr. and Mae Elizabeth Penn Proctor. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Lelekacs; brother, Paul Dewey Proctor, Jr. (Francis); her sister, Claudia Proctor Whitley (David); her son-in-law, Thorsten Beyer; and her nephew, Paul Dewey Proctor, III.
Betty was an educator and teacher for over 30 years in Vienna, OH before her retirement. She enjoyed reading, gardening and was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. A loving wife, mother, aunt, and dear friend to many, she will be immensely missed and forever remembered with love.
Betty is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, John Lelekacs of Rocky Mount; her son, Bill Lelekacs (Joanna); her daughter, Ellen Lelekacs Beyer; and many nieces and nephews.
A Private Memorial Graveside Service at Pineview Cemetery will be held at a later date.
