Belva Tyndall Cooper

ROCKY MOUNT - Belva Tyndall Cooper, age 62, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on December 3, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Carl Hugh Tyndall and Madeline Adine Hill Tyndall. Belva was a longtime employee in the Trust Department at Truist Bank, formerly BB&T. A faithful and devoted member of Englewood Baptist Church, Belva was very active and sang with the church choir. She loved working and tending to her flower garden and her caring personality extended beyond helping others but also in helping to rehome lost animals. Belva was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to many. Her compassionate legacy will forever live on in the lives of those she touched. Belva is survived by her husband of 44 years, Michael Keith Cooper; her son, William Cooper (Sherri); her brother, Brent Tyndall (JoAnne); her brother-in-law, Jack Cooper; her nieces, Dorothy Thames (Justin), Gray Nichols (Bart) and Kala Lynn; and great-niece, Eliza Thames. A Funeral Service to celebrate Belva's life will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Charles Taylor officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pineview Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.   1. I loved Belva Cooper! She was a dear ,sweet, loyal friend of mine whom I will forever cherish and miss. Beautiful inside and out. Many fond memories of our dinners at Mario’s.No doubt, her friendship was such a gift from God to me. My thoughts and prayers are with Mike, Will, Brent and his family, and all her fur babies.

  6. Belva and I became good friends when I worked in the Trust Department of Centura Bank. She was always so helpful and had the best sense of humor. When I retired she gave me a beautiful wreath she made, which still hangs in my sun room It always makes me think of her. We stayed in touch through the years, and I am going to miss her. I’ll always remember her advice on flowers and shrubs and her great love of animals. My thoughts and prayers are with her family now and in the days ahead.

  13. To the family of sweet Belva, May God’s comfort be with you during this sad time. I worked with Belva at MBM and sang with her in the Englewood Baptist choir when I was a member there. I could always count on Belva for a good laugh, and I will always remember her beautiful smile. Belva was a beautiful person inside and out.   21. I only just learned of Belva’s passing. I was so shocked and saddened. She was such a great person! I did her hair for years and got to know her well. I loved her as I am sure anyone who knew her did. She will surely be missed.
