Barbara Ray Deans

Red Oak - Barbara Ray Deans, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2015. She was born in Nash County, NC on May 7, 1938, she was the daughter of the late William Randolph Deans and Mollie Moore Deans. Barbara was the secretary for her familys Truck and RV Service and Sales business in Rocky Mount and Raleigh for many years. In addition to her joy of working with her family, she was an avid traveler and enjoyed visiting many camping events. Barbara was a graduate of Red Oak High School and also received her degree in Journalism from the University of North Carolina. She was very fond of sports and was a dedicated Tar Heel fan as well as a New York Yankee fan. Barbara was a life-long member of Red Oak United Methodist Church and will be missed by all of her church family. Barbara is survived by her brother, William Ronald Deans of Pineola, NC; her two nephews Dr. William R. Deans, Jr. of Rocky Mount and David Spruill Deans of Raleigh, NC; and eight grand-nieces and nephews. A Private Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
