Barbara Cashwell Macaulay

Barbara Cashwell Macaulay, 79, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2012. She was born in Asheboro, NC on May 2, 1933 to the late David Henry and Agnes Cannady Cashwell. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert J. Macaulay, Jr. Barbara grew up in Greensboro, NC and was a graduate of Duke University. She was a Sunday School Teacher, a DAR member, and a Medical Auxiliary Member. She enjoyed playing bridge and gardening and was happiest when she was spending time with family. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Linda M. Shields, of Edenton, NC, Claire M. Etheridge and husband, Doug of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Dava C. Cox of Greensboro, NC, Linda C. Jewell and husband, Rob of Lake Wylie, SC; grandchildren, Chief Etheridge and Macaulay Etheridge of Charlotte, NC, Claire Marie Shields and Michael Joseph Shields of Edenton, NC. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Friday, November 16, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Peter Bynum officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Braswell School Fund, 153 N. Church Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27802.
