SANDY CROSS - Arnold Ray Baker, Sr., 64, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 21, 2012. He was born in Nash County on April 15, 1947 to the late Lacy and Geneva Baker.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and Gran. He loved the great outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
Left to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Brenda Pittman Baker; daughter, Michelle Baker Daughtridge and husband Mark of Rocky Mount; son, Ray Baker and wife, Lori of Sandy Cross; grandchildren, Annabrooke Daughtridge of Rocky Mount, and Zach and Mason Baker of Sandy Cross; sisters, Jenette Cantrell and husband Jerry of Rocky Mount, Peggy Tyson of Sandy Cross; and brothers, Jerry Baker and Garry Baker of Sandy Cross.
The family will receive friends and family from 7:00pm - 8:30pm on Monday, January 23, 2012 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
